Xavier Aptitude Test (XAT) is national-level management aptitude test. It is conducted by Xavier School of Management, Xavier Labour Relations Institute (XLRI) - Jamshedpur.

XLRI conducts the exam on behalf of Xavier Association of Management Institutes (XAMI). XAT scores are used by more than 800 institutes for admission to MBA, PGDM and other management courses.

XLRI Jamshedpur offers the following management programmes:

·         Business Management (BM)

·         Human Resource Management (HRM)

·         Global Business Management(GBM)

·         General Management Programme (GMP)

 

Xavier Aptitude Test – XAT is the second largest MBA entrance test to pursue MBA/PGDM in 11 member institutes and 140 Associate institutes accepting XAT exam scores. Till 2017 XAT remained a paper based test. With effect from 2018, XAT has become an online computer based test. As per the past trends in XAT Exam Date, the XAT 2019 date is to remain the first Sunday of January month. Accordingly, XLRI – the XAT 2019 exam conducting authority is expected to announce the XAT  2019 date as January 6, 2019.  


Minimum Criteria

Management aspirants who wish to apply for XAT 2019 must fulfil the eligibility criteria as prescribed by XLRI Jamshedpur. Here are the XAT 2019 eligibility criteria based on last year’s data.

·         Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognised University or Institute. The minimum duration of the programme has to be three years.

·         Final year graduation students are also eligible to apply provided they complete the programme within the stipulated schedule, which is most likely to be by June 2019.

Age limit - There is no age limit to apply for XAT 2019.

 XAT Eligibility for NRI/Foreign candidates - NRI or foreign national candidates have to apply through GMAT scores. Candidates from Dubai or Nepal are exempted from applying through GMAT scores as XAT will be conducted in these two international cities.

Application Process

To register for XAT 2019, candidates need to visit the official website, click on Register and create a new account by using a personal email ID. After that, candidates will receive a unique XAT ID and registration link.vsvaz 

Test Fees

XAT 2019 application fee is Rs 1650 and Rs 300 per XLRI course. Application fee after deadline is (including late fee) Rs 200 and Rs 500 per XLRI course.

Mode of Payment

There are three modes of payment:

·         Online Payment Gateway: Through VISA/Master Credit/Debit Cards (American Express Card is inadmissible). IDBI Net banking (this option is available only for IDBI account holder)

·         Cash Payment: Please take a print out of the XAT Pay-In-Slip visit nearest IDBI bank and make the payment.

·         Demand Draft: Issue a DD from any Bank in favour of "XLRI Jamshedpur A/c XAT" payable at Jamshedpur.

Syllabus

Highlights of XAT Syllabus

  • XAT Syllabus 2019 for Quantitative Ability & Data Interpretation (QA & DI): There are 15 topics of 27 marks. The difficulty level of this section is always high. An accuracy of 70% is considered good.
  • XAT Syllabus 2019 for Verbal & Logical Ability (VA & LR): There are 7 important topics and the section can have moderate-high level questions. About 26 questions are expected this year.
  • XAT Syllabus 2019 for Decision Making (DM): 20-23 questions are expected from this section. 
  • XAT 2019 GK Syllabus: The section always has a moderate difficulty level as questions. 
  • XAT 2019 Essay Syllabus: There is no set syllabus for XAT for the essay writing section. Any topic of examiners interest, which will involve some brainstorming, can come up.
