Symbiosis Entrance Test or SET is a university level entrance test for UG courses offered by SIU affiliated institutes. 

 

Symbiosis International University conducts the separate exams for law, engineering, design & other courses. These tests are organized for providing admission to its various constituent colleges. For B.Tech admission, SIT Engineering Entrance Exam (SITEEE) exam is conducted by the university. SET General is commonly conducted for admission to other undergraduate courses. Candidates seeking admission to SIU affiliated colleges can apply for the exam. Along with filling the application form for the exam, candidates are also required to apply for the institutions in which they want to take admission. 

 

Besides BBA, SET is also conducted for BBA IT, BCA, BA Mass Comm, B Sc Economics Honours, B Sc Liberal Arts, BA Liberal Arts and B Sc Culinary Arts

SET score is necessary for admission UG courses at the following institutes.

·         Symbiosis Institute of Computer Studies and Research

·         Symbiosis Centre of Media and Communication

·         Symbiosis Centre of Management Studies, Noida

·         Symbiosis Centre of Management Studies, Pune

·         Symbiosis School of Liberal Arts

·         Symbiosis School of Culinary Arts


Minimum Criteria

Eligibility Criteria for SET 2018:

·         The aspirant must have completed 10+2 or equivalent examinations in relevant stream from a recognized board or university with minimum 50% marks ( 45% for SC/ST category students)

·         Candidates in class 12 or awaiting their 10+2 result are also eligible to apply but they will have to submit passing certificate by September 2018

·         A candidate who has completed XII (10+2) or equivalent examination from any Foreign Board must obtain an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU)

Application Process

SET 2018 is a three step process including application submission, written test and WAT/PI.

STEP 1: SET 2018 Application

The candidates can apply for SET 2019 through an online application form available on the official website. They need to register on the SET website as new user. On successful registration the candidates will be able to access the application form. Payment of application fee of Rs 1500 online through net banking or by credit/debit card.

STEP 2: SET 2018 admit card

Admit card of SET will be issued to registered students at least a week before the exam. The candidates can download their respective admit cards from the official website. Date for the same will be notified in advance.

STEP 3: SET 2018 exam

SET exam will be held on the scheduled date at all the test centres across the country at the same time. The candidates must be present at the venue along with admit cards and a secondary identity proof.

STEP 4: SET 2018 result

SET result will be announced on the official website. Selected candidates will be called for WAT/PI round. Each school will release their own cut off and post SET admission process. The candidates are advised to check individual websites.

STEP 5: SET 2018 WAT/PI

The candidate must carry all the relevant documents (original and photocopy) to the WAT/PI round. Admission will be granted on th e basis of a candidate’s overall performance in SET and WAT/PI.

Exam Pattern

It is essential that candidates should develop a clear idea about the exam pattern before appearing for Symbiosis Entrance Test. The examination will be conducted for four different programs namely General, Law, Engineering and Design. General highlights common to all the papers are listed below:

  • Mode of SET 2018: Online mode only
  • Duration of Exam: duration of each test is 150 minutes. No extra time will be given for candidates reporting late at the exam center.
  • Number of Sessions: two sessions – Morning Session: 9:30 am to 12.00 noon (Reporting time: 07:30 am) and Afternoon Session: 2.30 pm to 5.00 pm (Reporting time: 12:30 pm)
  • Nature of Questions: Objective type, each question will have 4 responses. Choose the most appropriate one.
  • SET 2018 Marking strategy: There is no negative marking for any wrong answer.

The number of sections in each question paper and the subjects tested vary depending on the type of paper. The total number of questions and total marks is also different.
