Pearl Academy was established in 1993 and offers Design, Fashion and Business programmes to aspirants. A popular design college in India, Pearl Academy has its own admission process which is organised in different cycles. 

The Pearl Academy of Fashion Entrance Exam is a national level examination organized by the Pearl Academy of Fashion as a qualifying test for admissions to the various UG/PG design courses offered at the academy.


Pearl Academy conducts PAF 2018 entrance exams for the following admission cycles-

In order to secure admission in any programme offered by this design college, aspirants need to appear for Pearl Academy Entrance Exam (which is also commonly called – PAF Entrance Exam) followed by a Personal Interview round. Candidates are informed that in each admission cycle of Pearl Academy, separate written entrance exam as well as personal interview round is conducted. Aspirants can secure admission in various UG, PG and Diploma programmes offered at Pearl Academy by clearing the written entrance exam and interview round. Minimum Criteria


Eligibility criteria of PAF 2018 is announced by Pearl Academy of Fashion. According to the PAF entrance exam 2018 eligibility criteria, aspirants must have passed 10+2, or equivalent, in any discipline, with minimum 50% marks.

Application Process

Step 1: Fill Pearl Academy Application Form

In order to apply for design programmes offerd at the college, aspirants need to fill Pearl Academy Entrance Exam 2018 application form either in the online or offline mode. In the application form for Pearl Academy admissions, candidates need to fill information such as their personal details, choice of course, educational qualifications and work experience.

Step 2: Download Pearl Academy Admit Card

After candidates have successfully registered for Pearl Academy entrance exam 2018, they will be provided with an admit card which is a mandatory document that they need to carry to their exam centre. Aspirants are informed that they need to download their Pearl Academy Entrance Exam 2018 admit card from the official website. No separate admit card will be sent to students by post. Admit cards will be provided to students for written test as well as personal interview round conducted for Pearl Academy admissions 2018, four days before the Pearl Academy entrance exam.

Step 3: Appear for Pearl Academy Entrance Exam

Pearl Academy admission process is conducted in three cycles. Aspirants can appear for Pearl Academy entrance exam in any of these three admission cycles conducted in a given academic year. Pearl Academy admission cycles are conducted in the months of January, April and June, each year. The Pearl Academy entrance exam pattern and test duration varies from course to course.

Step 4: Appear for Personal Interviews

Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of their performance in Pearl Academy entrance exam need to appear for a personal interview round. In the personal interview round conducted for Pearl Academy admissions 2018, aspirants are evaluated on the basis of their portfolio/studio test (conducted for Design streams).

Step 5: Check Pearl Academy Entrance Exam Results

In order to secure admission in any course offered at Pearl Academy, candidates are selected on the basis of their performance in both – Written Test and Personal Interview/Studio Test. Candidates who make it to the final merit list for Pearl Academy admissions will be allotted the programme as well as campus basis their rank and preference. Pearl Academy Entrance Exam 2018 results for each admission cycle will be declared separately. 

Candidates who are shortlisted for admissions at Pearl Academy are sent a formal “Admission Offer Letter” after the result is declared. “Candidates will be required to pay the fees by stipulated date to secure their seats. In case a successful candidate does not pay the fees within the stipulated date, the seat will be offered to other deserving candidates”, informs the official website.

Note: In a situation wherein a candidate is not selected for admission in his/her desired programme in a given admission cycle then such an aspirant is eligible to apply again in the next admission cycle.


Exam Pattern

The PAF entrance exam 2018 will comprise following two stages:

Stage 1- Written Admission Test- GPT and DAT

Candidate’s proficiency in English language, Quantitative Ability, Data Interpretation, Basic Mathematics, Logical reasoning, etc. is evaluated from General Proficiency Test (GPT). It will be conducted for one hour.

Design Aptitude Test (DAT), which will be held for two hours, will evaluate candidate’s aptitude for power of observation & imagination, communication skills, sensitivity to environment, creativity, drawing and design ability.

Stage 2: Personal Interview (including portfolio evaluation/material handling skill test for design streams)

The candidates will be required to appear for personal interview (PI) after the written admission test at the respective test centre/personal interview centre as mentioned on their admit card.


The PAF exam syllabus consists of different level and is a subjective and objective mode exam. The main stages of the exam are

3.     Personal Interview (PI)

For this round, candidates will be required to carry their portfolio based on which they will be evaluated. They will also be assessed on material handling skills for which they will have to appear for a Studio Test as well. The candidates will be evaluated on the below mentioned criteria:
