Management Aptitude Test (MAT) is a national-level management entrance examination. The test scores are used for admission to various MBA, PGDM and allied management programmes. The exam is conducted by All India Management Association (AIMA). More than 600 B-Schools accept MAT exam scores. MAT is held four times in a year: February, May, September and December.  

All India Management Association (AIMA) will conduct the MAT 2018 September exam in both offline (paper-pencil) and online (computer-based) mode on September 2 and September 15, 2018 respectively.

 The application process has started from June 30. The last date to register for offline and online mode is August 24 and September 8 respectively. Candidates can choose to write the exam in both modes.

AIMA prescribes the eligibility criteria for MAT 2018. The eligibility criteria for the exam are given below:

·         Graduates in any discipline can take the exam.

·         Final year graduation students can also apply.

·         There’s no age limit for MAT exam.

Application Process

Step 1: Fill in the Application form

Candidates willing to appear for MAT 2018 September need to first fill in the application form. Registration for MAT can be done by logging on to the official website at https://apps.aima.in/matdec17/. 

MAT application fees is Rs 1550. Candidates can apply through any one of three following modes: 

·         Online Payment

·         Demand Draft

·         Cash

Candidates who have opted for computer-based test can choose the date and time slot of their choice, subject to availability. While filling up admission forms, candidates need to fill in details of five management institutes during registration. MAT scores will be sent directly to these institutes. 

Date and time slot for the exam will be automatically allotted by the system to those candidates who do not select their slot up to four days before the computer-based test. 

The candidates are also required to select five B-Schools they want their MAT scores to be sent to for admissions. Those who want their scores to be sent to more than 5 institutes will have to fill up a seperate form available on MAT website. They will have to pay Rs 75 per institute before the test date and Rs 100 after the test date. 

Step 2: Download MAT Admit Card

Candidates who register successfully for MAT 2018 September will have access to their respective admit cards. The admit card can be downloaded from the official website using registered email ID and Date of Birth. Every admit card will consist of a registration number that will be unique for every aspirant. Candidates must note that hard copies of the admit card will not be sent to the aspirants. 

Step 3: Appear for MAT

MAT 2018 September Paper-based test & Computer-based test will be conducted on two different dates. The sections included in the MAT exam paper include - Indian & Global Environment Section, Data Analysis and Sufficiency/ Mathematical Skills, Language Comprehension, and Intelligence and Critical Reasoning. 

Step 4: Check MAT Result

Aspirants can check their MAT 2018 September result on the official website after it has been officially announced. To check the result, the candidates need to enter their Roll Number, Form Number and month of exam. 

Exam Pattern

 

MAT is conducted in both offline and online modes, and a candidate can select any of the modes while filling the application form. MAT exam has 200 objective type questions divided into five sections. The duration of the MAT exam is Two hours and 30 minutes (2:30 hrs). Marking Scheme: Each question carries one mark and 1/4th marks (0.25 marks) will be deducted for each incorrect answer.

 

Syllabus

 

As mentioned in the exam pattern, the MAT 2018 syllabus is divided into five sections. The detailed MAT syllabus 2018 section-wise is given below:

 

Data Analysis and Sufficiency – Graphs, Charts, Bar Graphs, Pie Chart, Venn Diagram, Puzzles, Tables etc.

 

Language Comprehension – Vocabulary, Reading Comprehension, Grammar, Verbal Reasoning, Analogies, Odd man out, Sentence correction & completion, Antonyms, Idioms etc.

 

Intelligence and Critical Reasoning – Mathematical Reasoning, Verbal Ability, Coding and Decoding, Family Tree, Effect and Cause, Sequencing etc.

 

Mathematical Skills – Geometry, Number System, Functions, Date and Time, Progression, Algebra, Averages, Ration and Proportions etc.

 

Indian and Global Environment – Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Geography, History, Sports, Entertainment, Politics, Science, Awards, Business etc.
