JIPMER 2019: The national level entrance examination is organised and conducted by the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research. Originated as École de Médicine de Pondichérry established in 1823 by the French Government, the medical college was later upgraded to Dhanvantari Medical College. And after a few years, it was again converted to JIPMER. The JIPMER 2019 is the gateway to various Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Super Speciality, PhD programmes, Fellowship, Certificate and Post Basic Diploma programmes.

After clearing the JIPMER Exam 2019, the eligible candidates will get admission in the medical course (MBBS) of the Jawaharlal Institute of Postgraduate Medical Education & Research and its affiliated campuses.

The medical undergraduate exam JIPMER 2019 will be conducted on June 2, 2019. Aspirants of JIPMER 2019 MBBS exam must start their preparation early in order to achieve better results. Jawaharlal Institute of Post-graduate Medical Education and Research or JIPMERUG entrance is an examination that is conducted on a yearly basis and offers 200 MBBS seats in its two campuses – Puducherry and Karaikal. JIPMER 2019 will be held in the online mode as a computer-based test. JIPMER 2019 is one of the prominent medical undergraduate entrance examinations of the country along with AIIMS and NEET. JIPMER 2019 will consist of questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology, English Language & Comprehension, and Quants & Reasoning. Negative marking was introduced in JIPMER exam pattern since the previous year, and JIPMER 2019 is, therefore, likely to follow the same. More than 3 lakh candidates are expected to apply for JIPMER 2019.

Minimum Criteria

The JIPMER medical institute checks the eligibility of an applicant through the following –

  • National: He must be an India citizen. If the applicant is staying overseas, he too can apply for the exam.
  • Age: He must meet the age limit, which is 17 years old, at the time of filling the application form. JIPMER has not fixed the upper age limit bar.
  • Academic Qualification: The candidate must have passed 10+2 with more than 50% marks from the subjects like Physics, Biology or Biotechnology, Chemistry, English and one elective subject. He should have passed all the subjects individually. For reserved candidates and general-OPH, the minimum passing mark is 40% in PCB stream.

Application Process

The students should obtain JIPMER MBBS 2019 information brochure from the official website and check all the guidelines for making application form. Check the following information with regard to JIPMER application form:

·         Candidates should know that they JIPMER application form 2019 can be submitted through online mode only.

·         The registration for JIPMER MBBS application will start from 6th March 2019.

·         The registration process will close on 12th April 2019.

·         Candidates must apply online before the last date of application form.

·         Applicants must fill all the details carefully in the application form as there is no provision of modification in the application at the later stage.

·         All the information provided in the application form should be correct and true in all manners.

·         Candidates also need to upload scanned photograph and signature with the prescribed specification.

·         Make payment of requisite application fee through online mode.

·         At the end submit the application form and do not forget take printout of the confirmation page.

Exam Pattern

Candidates must be conversant with the prescribed exam pattern and syllabus. Check JIPMER exam pattern below:

·         Exam Mode: The entrance test will be a computer based online exam.

·         Test Duration: The duration of exam will be 2.30 hours.

·         Total Questions: There will be 200 questions in the JIPMER question paper.

·         Type of Questions: All the questions will multiple choices in nature having four alternate choices where candidates have to choose the correct answer.

·         Language: The question paper will be bilingual i.e. English and Hindi.

·         Marking Scheme: Each question will carry 4 marks hence, for every correct response 4 marks will be given.

·         Negative Marking: Note applicable in this exam.
