IIFT is a leading business school of India. The institute is famous for management courses in International Business Management and Strategy courses. IIFT conducts a separate entrance test to select candidates.

It’s confirmed now! IIFT 2018 MBA entrance exam for admission to IIFT 2019 MBA (IB) will be held on Sunday December 2, 2018. IIFT is conducted in an offline mode, and this year too it will remain as a paper-based test. However, since the number of applicants are increasing over the years, the officials are contemplating to switch to an online test – the switch might take place next year. 


Minimum Criteria

Eligibility criteria for IIFT 2019 exam: 

·         The candidate must have a recognised Bachelor’s degree of atleast 3 years duration in any discipline

·         Candidates in their final year of Graduation can also apply. However such candidates have to submit the proof of requisite qualification

·         Candidates belonging to General category must have secured at least 50% marks in graduation, and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PWD categories must have secured a minimum of 45% in graduation

·        There is no age limit for the applicants

Application Process

Step 1: Fill in the Application form

To be able to appear for IIFT, aspirants need to fill the application form. Candidates can choose to fill the application form in two modes- online or offline. Candidates must make sure that they check eligibility criteria before applying for the exam. Foreign candidates need to have a valid GMAT score. 

The application fee for candidates belonging to General/OBC categories is Rs 1650, for candidates belonging to SC/ST/PH categories is Rs 825, and for Foreign National/NRI/Children of NRI candidates is US$ 85 (INR Rs 5500). 

Candidates can choose to pay the application fee by any of the following modes:

·         Online Payment Gateway

·         Demand Draft

Step 2: Download IIFT 2019 Admit Card

Test-takers can download the admit cards from the official website of IIFT. To download the admit card, candidates are required to fill in their login details. Details regarding the exam and test centres shall be mentioned on the hall ticket. 

Step 3: Appear for IIFT 2019

Candidates who fill the application form successfully need to appear for IIFT exam. The exam is likely to be held on Dec 2, 2018. Candidates are required to solve 123 multiple choice questions from sections like English Comprehension, General Knowledge & Awareness, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Analysis. 

Step 4: Check IIFT 2019 Result

IIFT result is expected to be declared within one month from the date of exam. Candidates can check the result on the official website by entering their Roll Number and Date of Birth. It is advised to take a printout of the scorecard for further references. 

Step 5: Essay Writing, GD and PI

Candidates who clear IIFT 2018 will be further called for Essay Writing, GD (Group Discussion) and PI (Personal Interview) rounds. For Essay Writing, candidates will be provided a topic related to General or business affairs. The average time allotted to draft an essay of around 300 words is 20 minutes.

Exam Pattern

IIFT 2018 entrance test will consist of multiple choice objective type questions (MCQs). IIFT 2018 pattern is now divided into 6 sections comprising questions on Verbal Ability; English Reading Comprehension; General Knowledge & Awareness; Logical Reasoning; Data Interpretation and Quantitative Analysis.

 

Going by the IIFT exam pattern, out of the total 100 marks the distribution of marks in IIFT 2018 entrance with number of questions and weightage assigned to each of them, is expected to be on following pattern:

Syllabus

  • English Comprehension: This section covers generally two sub-topics which are Verbal Ability & Reading Comprehension. This section is likely to be moderate on the difficulty scale.

  • GK & Business Awareness: This section may have questions from various topics and the difficulty level of the same can vary from moderate to tough.

  • Logical Reasoning & Data Interpretation: According to the IIFT 2019 syllabus, this section is likely to contain 20-25 objective questions. And, it is likely to be difficult considering the previous year’s record.

  • Quantitative Ability: The Quantitative Ability part is usually the most difficult section for candidates. It needs a lot of practice.
