Minimum Criteria

IICD entrance exam 2018 eligibility criteria for admission in UG courses is such that candidates need to pass Class XII in any stream from a recognised board.

Note: Candidates who are appearing for their qualifying exam can also apply for the design entrance exam. However, if selected, the admission of such candidates will be provisional subject to submitting the required eligibility certificates by the stipulated date mentioned by IICD. In case, any candidate fails to submit the required certificates by the stipulated date his/her admission at IICD will be cancelled. In such a scenario IICD admission fees paid by the candidate for the first semester will not be refunded, informs the official website.

Application Process

Step 1: Fill IICD entrance exam application form

For IICD entrance exam 2018 registration candidates first need to fill the IICD application form in the online mode on the official website of the college. The IICD entrance exam application form includes sections such as a candidate’s personal details, education details, and address.

The IICD entrance exam 2018 application fee is as mentioned below:

Note: The IICD entrance exam application fee is non-refundable.

Step 2: Get the IICD entrance exam admit card

After successful IICD entrance exam 2018 registration, IICD admit card will be emailed to candidates on their registered email IDs. Candidates need to bring the printout of the admit card to the IICD exam centre as it is a mandatory document to be carried.

Along with the IICD entrance exam 2018 admit card, candidates also need to bring a self-attested recent passport size photo pasted on the admit card. In addition, candidates also need to carry an original photo ID proof to the IICD entrance exam centre.

Step 3: Appear for IICD entrance exam

In order to appear for IICD entrance exam 2018, candidates need to give two written design tests and a personal interview. While both the written tests will aim at judging the general awareness and design aptitude of candidates, questions in the personal interview round will judge the IQ and personal achievements of candidates.

Step 4: Check IICD entrance exam result

IICD admissions 2018 will be done on the basis of a candidate’s performance in written tests and the personal interview round. After conducting the tests and the personal interview round, the college will declare the IICD entrance exam result on its official website.

Exam Pattern

IICD Entrance Exam 2018 will be conducted in Offline mode only. All the questions in the test are subjective in nature. No special type of questions is there.

  • There will be two separate tests namely General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test and Material, Color & Conceptual Test
  • There are 32 questions in total in the test.
  • The medium of the IICD paper is English.
  • The total marks allocated for the exam is 100.
  • There is no negative marking in IICD Entrance Exam.
  • There will no special category of questions.

Syllabus

The syllabus for IICD Entrance Exam 2018 is based on the 10+2 level. The first paper is based on General Awareness, Creativity & Perception Test will consist of:

  • Estimation of sizes and proportion
  • Visual interpretation
  • General awareness
  • Observation skills

IICD Material, Color & Conceptual Test is the second written paper in IICD Entrance Exam 2018. The test will assess the following abilities of candidates:

  • Intelligent use of materials, conceptualization and realization of a three-dimensional form.
  • Observation skills, thinking and expanding of ideas, and creating solution based on a plan and strategy.
  • Providing multiple solutions to the given problem with written description.

The third and final round is IICD Personal Interview Round. Questions in the interview round will judge the candidates’ following skills:

  • Aptitude to crafts
  • Intelligence quotient (IQ)
  • Communication skills
  • General awareness about crafts and design
  • Personal achievements in academics and extracurricular activities
