Minimum Criteria


The eligibility criteria for appearing the GUJCET 2018 is as follows:

·         Only Indian citizens can apply.

·         Candidates should be a Permanent resident of Gujarat. Those who belong to Gujarat but are living outside the state, are also eligible to apply.

·         The age of candidates applying for GUJCET has to be minimum 17 years.

·         Candidates should have subjects of Class XII Science such as Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics.

·         Applicants should have passed the 12th examination with minimum 45% marks (40% marks for reserved category candidates) from Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board, Gandhinagar/CBSE, Delhi/CISCE, New Delhi/ NIOS/International School Board.

·         Candidates who will complete their 10+2 examination in 2018 are also eligible to apply.

It is mandatory for applicants to meet the GUJCET eligibility criteria 2018 to become eligible for admission in engineering and pharmacy courses offered at all the Government, Grant in aid and self-financed institutes in the state for Government quota seats and Management quota. Only those who fulfill all the requirements will get their admit cards for the examination which is slated to be held in May 2018. Those who fail to meet the criteria will not be permitted to sit for the exam. Applicants must keep all the necessary documents ready to prove their eligibility at the time of admission. Any discrepancy in document verification by the candidates will lead to cancellation of their applications.

Application Process

Candidates seeking admissions to the 4 year BE/BTech programmes offered at the government and private college in the state of Gujrat through GUJCET 2018 need to follow the instructions given below. Step 1: GUJCET 2018 Application Form

The interested candidates will have to fill the GUJCET 2018 application form online. The entries received after the last dates of application submission will not be entertained.

Aspirants residing outside Gujarat and have completed their 10+2 examination from outside the state will be required to submit the print out of the filled application form at the given address with the following address:

Step 2: Payment of GUJCET 2018 Application Fee

After filling the form and uploading the photograph and signature, the candidates will be asked to make the payment of the prescribed application fee in the form of the Demand Draft. Step 3: GUJCET 2018 Admit Card        

·         Gujarat Senior and Higher Secondary Education Board (GSEB) typically releases the GUJCET admit cards in the month of May, every year. Candidates are also sent GUJCET admit card in offline mode via post.

·         Only the candidates who have registered themselves by filling the application form and submitted the required fees are eligible to download GUJCET 2018 admit card.

·         The candidates will have to carry the downloaded GUJCET 2018 Admit card to the exam hall.

·         They will have to safely preserve the same till the GUJCET 2018 admissions are complete.

·         If candidates need any corrections/ changes/ editing made for the data reflecting in the downloaded admit card, then will have to send a request to as on or before the prescribed date.

Step 4: Appear for GUJCET 2018 Exam

The candidates seeking admissions to the engineering courses offered by the government and private college in the state of Gujrat will have to appear for the GUJCET 2018 exam as per the date mentioned on the admit cards. The candidates are advised to reach the exam center on time along with the required documents and other needful.

Step 5: GUJCET 2018 Exam Results

The GUJCET 2018 results are typically announced in the first week of May. After which the candidates get an idea about their choice of college and courses which is dependent on the document verification and the counselling process. GUJCET 2018 counselling will be final step towards the candidate’s admission.


Exam Pattern

Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET 2018) is a state-level test conducted by the Gujarat Secondary Education Board (GSEB) for admission in Engineering and Pharmacy programmes offered by various institutes in the state of Gujarat.

GUJCET 2018 Exam will be conducted on 23rd April, 2018 in offline mode for admission in pharmacy and engineering courses. Interested candidates can appear for this entrance test after passing their 10+2 examination.

·         It is a Pen and Paper based exam. 

·         The paper can be taken in English, Hindi and Gujarati languages.

·         There are a total 120 questions in the question paper. 

·         There are Multiple Choice Type of Questions in the paper where candidates have to choose one option from four options.

·         Subjects that are covered under the exam are Chemistry, Physics, and Mathematics/Biology.

·         The paper carries 120 marks.

·         The total duration of the exam is 3 hours (180 minutes).

·         There is 1 mark for every correct answer, .25 mark will be deducted for every incorrect answer and no marks will be given or deducted for an unanswered question.
