Gandhi Institue of Technology and Management (GITAM) organises GITAM Admission Test, popularly known as GITAM GAT (UGTP/PGT/PGP) 2018. The institute will organise GITAM GAT 2018 from 11th to 26th April, 2018 for admission to Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes of Technology, Architecture and Pharmacy offered at Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru Campuses.

GITAM GAT 2018 Online Test includes ​GAT (UGTP) 2018 for B.Tech./ Dual Degree (B.Tech. + M.Tech.) / B.Arch. / B.Pharm admissions,​ GAT (PGTA) 2018 for M.Tech and M.Arch admissions and ​GAT (PGP) 2018 for M.Pharm admissions.


Minimum Criteria

GITAM Admission Test 2018 Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for the examination, the candidate has to meet the following eligibility criteria for the applied programme:

GAT (UGTP) Eligibility Norms:

·         Candidate must pass the class 12th examination with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks for B.tech and 50% aggregate marks for B.Arch./B.Pharm in Mathematics, Physics & Chemistry and First Class or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination from a recognised Central / State Board or its equivalent either in 2018 or 2017 and Rank secured in GAT (UGTP)-2018.

·         Candidates with PCM/PCB group are eligible for B.Tech Biotechnology and B.Pharmacy with 60% aggregate marks in the group and First Class/equivalent grade.

Note: Those who want admission in B.Arch programme should qualify in NATA / JEE (Main) paper-2.

GAT (PGTA) Eligibility Norms:

·         Candidates should have First class or equivalent grade in the Qualifying Examination from recognised university/institutes with a minimum of 60% aggregate marks for M.Tech and 50% aggregate marks for M.Arch and rank secured in GAT (PGTA) 2018.

Note: GATE qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PGTA) - 2018, however they need to apply for admission and have to attend counselling as per the schedule.

GAT (PGP) Eligibility Norms:

·         Candidate should pass B.Pharm from a recognised university with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade and rank secured in GAT (PGP) - 2018.

Note: GPAT qualified candidates are exempted from appearing for GAT (PGP) - 2018, however, they need to apply and have to attend counselling as per the schedule.

Application Process

GITAM University has released the application form of GITAM GAT 2018 in both online and offline mode.

Online Mode:

The application form of GITAM GAT can be submitted in three steps. The step by step procedure to fill the application form in online mode is mentioned below:

Log In:

·         Apply online on the official website of GITAM University.

Fill the Online Application Form:

·         The candidate should furnish all the details while filling the Online Application Form. Candidates have to fill details such as name, date of birth, gender, nationality, religion, category, name of the parent/guardian, address for correspondence, city, state, pin code, phone number with STD code (optional), mobile number, email ID, test centre preference, test code, name of the college, select subject.

·         After submitting all the details, candidates have to click on ‘Submit’ option.

Upload of Photograph:

·         In this step, candidates will have to upload a scanned copy of their recently clicked passport size colour photograph in PDF format.

·         Size of the image should be more than 4 kb and less than 50 kb, and the dimension of image should be 4 cm (width) x 4 cm (height).

·         Even before proceeding to pay, there is an option to modify/change the details in the online application form. Once the electronic payment is done for registration, you will not be able to access the filled application form again to make any changes.

Payment of Fees:

Candidates will have to pay registration fee of:

·         INR 1000/- for Male candidates

·         INR 600/- for female candidates

The payment can be done through any of the following modes:

Payment of Fee online:

·         Candidates can pay the registration fee using net banking/credit card/ debit card.

·         After successful payment of registration fee, you will be to take printout of the receipt.

Payment of Fee offline (Demand Draft):

·         The registration fee of GITAM GAT can also paid through Demand Draft (DD) drawn in favour of ‘Director Admissions’ payable at Visakhapatnam in any designated bank by Registered post / Speed  post  /  Courier to the address – Director Admissions, GITAM deemed to be University, Gandhinagar Campus, Rushikonda, Visakhapatna–530045, Andhra Pradesh, India on or before 26th March, 2018.

·         You can keep the second copy of the printout of the filled-in application form for your future use.

·         After successful payment of fees, click on ‘Submit’ button to complete the application form.

Offline Mode:

·         The application form can be obtained by post from director-admissions office by sending a request on plain paper giving your name with complete mailing address accompanied by demand draft for Rs.150/- drawn in favour of "GITAM (Deemed to be University)" payable at Visakhapatnam at any designated bank.

·         Request for applications by post/courier will be accepted up to 24th March, 2018.

·         The applications forms are also available across India in selected branches of Union Bank of India, Indian Bank and Karur Vysya Bank.

Exam Pattern

·         The exam pattern of GITAM GAT 2018 has been prescribed by GITAM University.

·         GITAM GAT exam pattern 2018 provides information about the total structure of the entrance exam that includes Mode of Examination, Total Duration, Total number of questions and Marking Scheme among others.

·         The total duration of the examination is 2 hours (120 minutes).

·         There are 3 sections in the examination and all questions are objective type.

·         There are 100 multiple choice questions in the examination.

·         Each question has four options out of which one is correct.

GITAM Admission Test 2018 Marking Scheme

·         The total marks in the exam is 400 marks.

·         Every correct answer will be awarded 4 marks.

·         1 mark will be deducted for incorrect answer.

·         Unanswered questions will receive 0 marks.
