Delhi University Joint Admission Test, commonly known as DU JAT, is a university level entrance exam. Conducted in offline mode (pen and paper-based), Delhi University organises the Joint Admission Test for aspirants seeking admission in various undergraduate courses like Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), BBA (FIA), BA (Hons) in Business Economics and other courses. In order to get admission in these courses offered at 6 associated colleges of Delhi University, aspirants will have to qualify the written exam, Group Discussion (GD) and Personal Interview (PI) rounds.

 


Minimum Criteria

Eligibility

The Delhi University Joint Admission Test (DU JAT) 2018 eligibility criteria have been prescribed by the University of Delhi. Before filling up the DU JAT application, candidates must check the exam's eligibility criteria to know all the conditions they need to fulfill. According to the DU JAT 2018 eligibility criteria, a candidate can apply and appear in DU JAT 2018 if he/she has completed the higher secondary education from a recognised board.

As part of the eligibility norms, a minimum of 60% is required in four papers including English, Mathematics and two elective subjects as approved by DU. Before applying for DU JAT 2018, candidates are advised to go through the following eligibility criteria for DU JAT 2018 in detail.

·         To be eligible for DU JAT 2018, applicants should have completed class 12th or equivalent exam from a recognised board. The candidates should've taken the board examination/Senior Secondary School Examination under the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) or Association of Indian Universities as recognised by DU.

·         An aggregate of minimum 60% is required (for General Category candidates) in four papers including English, Mathematics and two elective subjects (given at the bottom of the page) as approved by DU.

·         For the reserved category (including SC, ST, CW, and PwD), the minimum percentage requirement is 55% in each of the four papers considered for computing the aggregate.

·         For the OBC (non-creamy) candidates, the minimum percentage requirement is 54% in each of the four papers considered for computing the aggregate. The OBC applicants shall be given a relaxation of 10% in the minimum eligibility marks for getting admissions and for the DU JAT 2018 test a relaxation of 10% of the minimum eligibility marks prescribed for General/UR Category applicants.

·         On the day of the DU JAT 2018 Counselling, candidates have to produce their confirmed Class 12 result and mark-sheet, without which they will not be considered eligible for admission in BMS/BBA (FIA)/ B.A (Hons) Business Economics programmes.

·         At the time of final admission procedure, all the candidates belonging to OBC-Non creamy layer/SC/ST/PwD/CW category must produce their category certificate.

·         Those who fail or get compartment in the qualifying examination will not be considered eligible for admission.

Application Process

Step 1: DU JAT 2018 Registration

Applicants will have to visit the official website of DU and enter the following credentials:

·         Click on ‘Submit’ button after filling all the credentials on the website.

Step 2: DU JAT 2018 Application Form Filling

The next step of DU JAT 2018 application process involves filling of the application form. Applicants will have to fill the below mentioned details:

Step 3: Uploading of Images

·         After filling all the mandatory details specified in the DU JAT 2018 application form, applicants will have to upload the following documents:

·         Scanned Passport size Photograph (recent). The photograph should be in jpg format and size should not exceed 50 KB.

·         Scanned image of Signature in jpg format and the size should not exceed 50 KB.

·         Class 10th certificate in jpg format and the size should not be more than 100 KB.

·         Scanned image of ID Proof in jpg format and the size should not exceed 100 KB.

·         Category certificate (if applicable) in jpg format and the size should not exceed 100 KB.

Step 4: DU JAT 2018 Application Fee Payment

·         To complete the application process of DU JAT 2018, applicants will have to pay the DU JAT 2018 application fee.

·         Applicants must note that their form will not be submitted until the payment of the application fee.

·         DU JAT 2018 application fee is non-refundable.

·         The application fee for General category applicants is INR 500, whereas SC/ST/PWD applicants will have to make a payment of INR 250.

·         The payment of DU JAT application fee can be done through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card.

·         The question paper of DU JAT 2018 is in English language only.

·         DU JAT 2018 is conducted in offline mode (pen and paper mode).

·         Candidates have to attempt 100 objective type questions within two hours.

·         There are 4 sections in total, and each section contains 25 questions.

·         The question paper is based on Quantitative Ability, Business and General Awareness, General English, and Reasoning and Analytical Ability.

DU JAT 2018 Marking Scheme

·         In DU JAT 2018, each question has equal weightage in terms of marks.

·         The question paper of DU JAT 2018 consists of 300 marks in total.

·         For every correct answer, candidates are awarded 3 marks.

·         Every incorrect answer, 1 mark is deducted.

·         For unattempted questions, no marks are deducted.

Syllabus

To understand the DU JAT question paper well, candidates must know the DU JAT 2018 Syllabus well. The syllabus of DU JAT 2018 consists of all the topics/chapters that will be asked in the entrance exam. The syllabus of DU JAT 2018 is prescribed by the University of Delhi for admission to Bachelor of Management Studies (BMS), B.A Business Economics (Hons.) and BBA (FIA) programmes offered at some of the DU affiliated colleges.

There are four sections from where aspirants will encounter questions while taking the Delhi University Joint Admission Test. Knowing the syllabus beforehand makes it easier for candidates to know what to expect on the exam day and they can prepare themselves accordingly. Earlier, the exam date for DU JAT was 17th June but it has been re-scheduled for 22nd June. DU JAT will be conducted in online mode in two shifts (8 AM to 10 AM) & (12 PM to 2 PM).
