CLAT 2019 – CLAT stands for Common Law Admission Test which is considered the largest national level law entrance exam in India. CLAT 2019 will be convened by one of the NLUs to take admissions into law undergraduate and post-graduate programs.

National Law University Odisha, Cuttack (NLUO) will conduct Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) for the admission year 2019-2020. The CLAT 2019 is expected to be held on May 12, 2019 (Sunday). NLU Odisha, the conducting National Law University (NLU) for CLAT 2019 will be conducting the national-level law entrance exam for admissions to undergraduate and postgraduate law programmes on offer at the CLAT participating NLUs.

This year, the CLAT will be conducted for admissions to as many as 20 NLUs with addition of Dharmashastra National Law University, Jabalpur (MPDNLU). NLUO Cuttack will release an admission notification for the Common Law Admission Test in the month of December 2018. Further, the law aspirants will be able to fill the CLAT 2019 application form between January 1 and March 31, 2019. The CLAT 2019 will be held in online mode tentatively in over 65 examination centres across India.

Candidates may note that the CLAT 2019 scores obtained by the test takers will be valid for admissions into the 20 NLUs participating in CLAT along with the other over 25 private law schools. The scores of CLAT 2019 will be the basis for admissions into these law schools offering various UG and PG programmes including BA LLB, BCom LLB, BSc LLB and LLM programmes.

Every year, around 60,000 candidates fill CLAT application form, of which, over 50,000 appear for the Common Law Admission Test. Considering the year-on-year statistics, the applicants as well as test takers figures are on increase, which undoubtedly means the competition for admissions to the NLUs is exponentially increasing. Therefore, to secure a seat in an NLU, candidates need to have a better preparation for CLAT 2019.
