AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) is a national-level computer-based management entrance examination. It is conducted by the Association of Indian Management Schools (AIMS). ATMA scores are used for admission in various management programmes.

 

Dates for ATMA 2018 have been announced. In 2018, the exam will be held - June . The February exam will be held in pen-paper mode and the rest two in online mode. The registration process is likely to begin from May 28th 2018.

The complete schedule of admissions through ATMA 2018 is yet to be announced. However, as per ATMA 2018 notification, the result of online exams will be declared after five days. Declaration of the tesult of the paper-based test take longer. 

 

ATMA aims to evaluate a candidate’s verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, analysing and synthesising ability. It is a three hour exam. The test consists of multiple-choice objective-type questions.

 

Candidates who want to apply for the test need to be graduates (in any discipline). Final year graduation students can also apply for the exam.

 

“The scores of ATMA test are valid for Maharashtra institutional level MBA seats also, in addition to All-India level seats,” informs the official website.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for ATMA 2018 is:

  • The candidate applying for the exam should be a citizen of India.
  • The appearing candidate should hold a Bachelor’s degree or should have qualified in an equivalent examination under 10+2+3 scheme (any stream- B.A., B.Tech, B.Com, B.Sc.). It should be noted that only those candidates who have pursued a course from a University that is recognized by Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India are eligible for the exam.
  • Candidates who are in their final year of examination are also eligible for the exam.
  • Candidate must secure a minimum of 50% marks in graduation, or in the equivalent degree. This aggregate marks may however vary for different management institutes or Universities.
  • Age no bar.
  • Aspirants who have previously applied for ATMA exam, can also apply for the exam.
  • ATMA exam does not require a work experience – both working and non-working candidates can apply for the exam.

 

Application Process

The registrations and online payment for ATMA 2018 

 

Detailed ATMA application procedure is mentioned below:

Candidates willing to appear for the exam can register, apply online and fill in the application form. Also, application forms can be purchased from notified centres of ATMA. The application fee is Rs 1100. Candidates must note that the fee is non-refundable.

 

The options of filling in the application form is as follows:

  • Online mode

Online Payment using Debit / Credit Cards

  • Interested candidate needs to fill in his/her full name, working mobile number, a valid e-mail ID, and Date of Birth in the Online Fee payment form.
  • Once the fee is paid through fee payment form, a registration link comprising of PID is sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number and e-mail ID. Candidates are advised to check both their mobiles and email IDs for receiving the registration link.
  • Next, candidates need to click on the registration link and register for ATMA exam. This process can be completed by using the candidate’s Personal Identification Number (PID) and Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY).
  • A candidate get the option of choosing two test centers. In case the first test center is not available, the second test center is automatically mentioned in the admit card of the candidate.
  • Once all the details are filled, candidates need to press the button which says ‘Click here to register for ATMA Exam’.

  • Once the fee is paid through bank transfer, the candidate should request for PID. PID will be obtained only on entering a valid mobile number, working e-mail ID and correct date of Birth.
  • Once the candidate requests for PID, the payment is validated by the head office, following which a registration link comprising of PID is sent to the candidate’s registered mobile number and e-mail ID.
  • The candidate needs to click on the registration link in order to register for the exam. To fulfill the registration, the candidate needs to fill in the Personal Identification Number (PID) and Date of Birth (DD/MM/YYYY).
  • The candidate can opt for two test centers, so that if the first is unavailable, the second one is allotted to the candidate.
  • To complete the process, candidate needs to click on the tab stating ‘Click here to register for ATMA Exam’.

Exam Pattern

ATMA is a computer-based MBA entrance test. The test consists of multiple-choice objective-type questions. Candidates need to attempt 180 questions in 180 minutes. It evaluates verbal reasoning, numerical reasoning, analysing and synthesising ability of the candidate. It focuses on the aptitude of an applicant for higher management education.

Each question has four options. For each correct answer candidates are awarded 1 mark whereas for every incorrect answer 0.25 marks is deducted.

ATMA 2017 February exam will consist of three main topics, divided in to six sections. Candidates will have to attempt 180 questions in 180 minutes. Here’s a detailed look at the syllabus:

 

Sections of ATMA exam paper

  • Analytical Reasoning Skills: This section of the paper analyses the logical thinking capacity of candidates. Aspirants must make sure that they strengthen their capability of analyzing situations, only then will they be able to select the correct answer. Having the correct approach and right frame of mind will help a candidate extensively in finding the answer to the questions.
  • Quantitative Skills: In order to excel in this section, candidates will have to practice on a regular basis. Questions related to probability, percentages, time and work, permutation and combination, coordinate geometry, average, profit and loss, mensuration, ratio and proportion variations, interest, geometry, inequalities, time speed and distance, progression, logarithm, set theory, quadratic equation, and functions are frequently asked in ATMA exam.
  • Verbal skills: This is a section which evaluates the English skills of a candidate. Candidates an expect questions based on sentence completion, reading comprehension, vocabulary, and sentence correction, to name but a few.
