Andhra Pradesh Integrated Common Entrance Test, commonly known as a state-level entrance exam, is conducted for admission into Post-graduate courses like Master of Business Administration (MBA) and Master of Computer Application (MCA). APICET is taken after the completion of Bachelor’s Degree in any stream, and this common entrance test is valid only for the colleges situated in Andhra Pradesh. Aspirants willing to do MBA and MCA courses, can apply for APICET 2018 before the last date.


Minimum Criteria

Candidates seeking admission in MBA courses through APICET 2018 should fulfil the following criteria:

·         Candidates should be residents of Andhra Pradesh

·         Should have studied and passed 3 year Degree course in any faculty conducted by the Universities or its equivalent Degree Examination in 10 + 2 + 3 pattern as recognized by U.G.C

·         Should hold a Degree of 3 years duration from any recognized University or its equivalent with Mathematics as one of the subjects at class X level

·         Candidates appearing for the final year degree examination are also eligible to appear for APICET 2018

·         Candidate with aggregate marks of 50% (45% in case of reserved categories) are alone are eligible to take admission

APICET 2018 Photograph & Signature Specifications

·         To proceed further, applicants will have to upload their Photograph and Signature.

·         Photograph of the applicant should be in jpg file format and the size of this file should be less than 30 KB.

·         Signature of the applicant should be jpg file format and the size of this file has to be less than 15 KB.

Payment of APICET 2018 Application Fee

·         In order to apply for APICET 2018, applicants will have to pay INR 450.

·         Applicants can make the payment via Debit Card/Credit Card/Net Banking.

·         Applicants also have an option of making offline payment. Applicants choosing this option will have to choose AP online centre and visit any of the centre. Applicants must have the following details like Date of birth of the candidate, Name of the candidate, Admit card number of the qualifying examination, Mobile number and Father’s name.

·         After paying the fee, candidates will also get a receipt containing Payment ID.

Exam Pattern

·         APICET 2018 is conducted in offline (pen and paper-based) mode only.

·         APICET 2018 consists of 200 multiple type of questions, and each question carries 1 mark.

·         Candidates will have to choose one correct response from the four options.

·         The total exam duration of APICET 2018 is 2.5 hours.

·         APICET 2018 question paper has three sections- A, B and C. Section-A tests candidates' Analytical ability, Section-B tests candidates' Mathematical skills and Section-C examines candidates' Communication Skills.

Exam Pattern for Analytical Ability:

·         This section has a total of 75 questions.

·         20 questions are asked from Data Sufficiency.

·         55 questions are asked from Problem Solving.

Exam Pattern for Mathematical Ability:

·         This section consists of 75 questions in total.

·         35 questions are asked from Arithmetical Ability.

·         30 questions are asked from Algebraic and Geometrical Ability.

·         10 questions are asked from Statistical Ability.

Exam Pattern for Communication Ability:

·         This section has 50 questions in total.

·         10 questions are asked from Vocabulary.

·         10 questions are asked from Business and Computer Terminology.

·         15 questions are asked from Functional Grammar.

Syllabus

Candidates need to attempt 200 Questions (200 Marks) in 150 minutes. Here’s a detailed look at APICET 2018 syllabus:

Section A: Analytical Ability

Questions: 75

Topics covered under Analytical Ability are:

·         Data Sufficiency

·         Problem Solving 

·         Sequences and Series: Analogies of numbers and alphabet, completion of blank spaces following the pattern in a:b::c:d relationship; odd thing out: missing number in a sequence or a series. 

·         Data Analysis: Table, Graph, Bar diagram, Pie Chart, Venn Diagram or a Passage is to be analysed and the questions pertaining to the data are to be answered. 

·         Coding and Decoding

·         Date, Time & Arrangement Problems: Calendar problems, clock problems, blood relationships, arrivals, departures and schedules, seating arrangements, symbol and notation interpretation.

Section B: Mathematical Ability

Questions: 75

Topics covered under Mathematical Ability are:

·         Arithmetical Ability: 

Laws of indices, ratio and proportion; surds; numbers and divisibility, l.c.m. and g.c.d; Rational numbers, Ordering.; Percentages; Profit and loss; Partnership, Pipes and cisterns, time, distance and work problems, areas and volumes, mensuration, modular arithmetic. 

·         Algebra and Geometrical Ability: 

Statements, Truth tables, implication converse and inverse, Tautologies-Sets, Relations and functions, applications - Equation of a line in different forms. 

·         Trigonometry - Trigonometric ratios, Trigonometric ratios of standard angles, (0°, 30°, 45°, 60°, 90°, 180°): Trigonometric identities: sample problems on heights and distances, Polynomials; Remainder theorem and consequences; Linear equations and expressions; Progressions, Binomial Theorem, Matrices, Notion of a limit and derivative; Plane geometry - lines, Triangles, Quadrilaterals, Circles, Coordinate geometry-distance between points.

·         Statistical Ability: Frequency distributions, Mean, Median, Mode, Standard Deviation, Correlation, simple problems on Probability.
