CEED 2020

 

The Common Entrance Exam for Design 2020 is abbreviated as CEED 2020, a joint entrance examination conducted for the purpose of providing M.Ed. and Ph.D. Admission to various IITs and IISc. IIT Bombay is the organizing authority for this examination and the test will be conducted in about 21 cities across India. Candidates wishing to appear for the CEED 2020 examination will have to fill the application form temporarily in the month of October 2019.

In this article, we will discuss the complete details about CEED 2020 exam like important date, exam pattern, syllabus, eligibility test etc.

 

CEED 2020 Eligibility Criteria-

The eligibility criteria are always important for the applicants to follow as the selection depends on this, so we have listed some information below for the same.

          ·         The applicant should have a degree or a diploma or should have completed a PG degree course of 4 years.

          ·         The applicants should have completed HSC + 3+2 years of the degree are also eligible.

          ·         The applicants who are in the final year of graduation can also apply but have to submit the documents at the time of examination.

          ·         The applicants should have cleared the GD Arts diploma course (10+5 level) are also eligible.

          ·         There is no age limit decided yet for the entrance exam.

Qualifying Examination: Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Design/Interior Design or its equivalent after 10+2 level from a recognized board or university OR
He/she must have obtained a Professional Diploma in Design such as NID/CEPT or its equivalent after 10+2 level exams OR
He/she must have pursued a 5-year program in G.D. Art with one-year post qualification professional experience after 10th level exams OR

Appearing Candidates: Candidates who are in their final year of graduation can also apply provided they must show passing proof at the time of admission.

GATE Score: Candidates can also apply by their GATE 2020 Score.

CEED 2020 Application form

The CEED 2020 Application form is made available on the official website. The CEED 2020 Application form will be canceled if candidates submitted after the expiration of the due dates.

       ·         Candidates should go through the guidelines given below regarding the CEED 2020 Application form.

       ·         The CEED 2020 Online Registration will be Started from 2nd week of October 2019.

       ·         CEED 2020 Online Registration can be filled till 2nd week of November 2019.

       ·         Complete the Application Form filling process before the last date the 3rd week of November 2019  (with Rs. 500 Late fees).

       ·         In application, Candidates have to fill all the details carefully. An incomplete or incorrect Application Form will be rejected.

       ·         After filling the application, candidates have to upload the scanned photo, signature and other documents as per the instruction is given therein.

 

Documents to be uploaded at the time of Registration:

        ·         Scanned photograph and signature (in .jpg file).

        ·         Scanned copy of degree/diploma certificate (if the course is completed). If do not have the final degree certificate, upload the copy of the final year mark or the provisional certificate. If the course is not completed, then provide the certificate from the Principal of the college/Head of the department.

        ·         Valid category certificates issued by the concerned authorities.

        ·         PwD category certificate.

        ·         PwD candidate requiring extra time during the exam need to upload a request letter.

        ·         Candidates those names is not the same as the name on the degree/diploma certificate should produce a gazette notification, a marriage certificate or scanned pages of the passport showing the change of name.

 

CEED 2020 Application Fee 

Applications will be considered complete only after the payment of Application Form. Candidates have to pay application fees as per category wise.

Note that this fee is non-refundable and non-transferable. The registration fee has to be paid through the payment option provided on the website while submitting the registration form.

Registration fee:


1,300 for all women candidates
1,300 for (SC / ST / PwD) candidates
2,600 for all other candidates.
 

 

CEED 2020 Exam pattern

 

The CEED 2020 exam will be divided into two paper i.e. Part A and Part B. The answers sheet of Part B will be checked only if the candidate clears the Part A exam. Read more about the exam pattern

Exam Pattern for Part A

        ·         Mode of Exam:  Online (Computer Based Test)

        ·         Type of Questions: Objective type multiple choice questions

        ·         Duration of Exam: 1 Hour

        ·         Part A will test be designed to evaluate visual and spatial ability, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language, observation and design sensitivity of the candidates

Exam Pattern for Part B

        ·         Part B answers will be evaluated only if the candidate shortlisted after Part A exam.

        ·         There will be 8 Questions in Part B, out of which Question no. 1 to 5 will be of 50 Marks. Candidates have to attempt any one of 50 marks questions.

        ·         Mode of exam for Part B will be offline.

        ·         Part B will be aimed at evaluating the design, drawing and writing skills of the candidates.

        ·         Note: The final CEED 2020 score will be evaluated by giving 25% weightage to the Part A and 75% weightage to the Part B.

CEED Syllabus 2019

CEED will be in two parts, Part A and Part B. Part A will have a question related to this topic.

Part A Syllabus

Visualisation and Spatial Ability

Pictorial and diagrammatic questions to test the understanding of transformation and I or manipulation of 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.

Environmental and Social Awareness 

General awareness of environmental factors such as climate, population, water, vegetation, pollution, weather, natural resources, etc., and their implications on the design of products, images, infrastructure, and environment.

Awareness of design terminologies, social and cultural connection with the design, history of the designed artifact, and socially responsible and environmentally sustainable design responses. History of art, sculpture, and literature.

Analytical and Logical Reasoning

Ability to analyze given information logically and select the most appropriate solutions. Ability to weigh opinions, arguments or solutions against appropriate criteria.

Ability to use logic and structured thinking to deduce from a short passage, which of some statements is the most accurate response to a posed question.

Language and Creativity

Ability to understand passages in commonly used English language. Ability to think creatively regarding alternatives, ability to distinguish innovative options and think out of the box.

Design Thinking and Problem Solving

Ability to understand the context, the users and the constraints and select the most appropriate solution for a given design problem.

Observation and Design Sensitivity

Ability to detect concealed properties in the day to day life and think critically about them. Ability to discern subtle differences in visual properties and aesthetic outcomes.

 

Part B Syllabus

Drawing

Ability to draw products, people or scenes in proportion with good line quality, composition, proportion, perspective, and shading.

Creativity

Ability to think out of the box and come up with unique as well as diverse solutions.

Communication Skills

Ability to communicate concepts and ideas clearly with the help of text and visuals.

Analytical and Problem Solving Skills

Ability to understand the user and the context, knowledge of properties of materials and process and their appropriate use in design, originality of solutions, ability to create characters, plots, and stories, etc.

CEED 2017 will be an aptitude test, and hence no specific textbook/guide is recommended for its preparation. The candidates may, however, practice their drawing, rendering and visualization skills.
